The Artist

I am an artist, cultural manager, and educator with 20 years of experience in the performing arts, during which time I have worked as a director, actor, and producer on more than forty theater productions. Since 2007, I have served as artistic director of Tijuana Hace Teatro and its venue, Teatro Las Tablas, where I have helped develop a performing arts ecosystem that brings together creation, management, outreach, audience engagement, archiving, and publishing.

The Project

The project proposes a personal laboratory for dramaturgical research and experimentation centered on LGBTQ+ memories and imaginaries in the border region, particularly in Tijuana. Through the exploration of documentary materials, writing exercises, and interdisciplinary practices, I seek to delve into the diverse experiences, emotions, territories, and narratives that shape the region’s cultural and social life, with the aim of sharing the questions and materials that emerge from this process through meetings and exchanges with the community.
