My name is Teresa Avedoy, and ever since I arrived at this border in 1989 from Sinaloa at the age of 10, my entire journey has converged on this project, which explores—conceptually and poetically—the idea of the library as a space, a way of life, and an artistic political practice that welcomes us all equally: tourists, migrants, and locals. I firmly believe that we all have a right to art, poetry, and creativity, and that engaging in these activities from within and in libraries holds a special value, given their nature as symbolic, human, open, and inclusive physical spaces.
